Harry Lomas MBE BEM has been appointed as Head of Culinary at the stadium, overseeing the 200 chefs who cater for Club Wembley members and their guests on event days.

Harry is a true gastronome who is actively involved in the relationship between food, culture and people with the art of preparing and serving authentic quality and appetising food and enjoys creating colourful and vibrant menus, freshly cooked food of the highest quality that has been sourced from approved suppliers that are committed to suitability.

“I’m really excited about playing my part in fulfilling the Wembley vision to be ‘the ultimate stadium experience’,” says Harry. “I know from my career to date that top-quality food and beverage provision can define an experience. I’m committed to motivating my team to add to the unforgettable memories the world’s most famous stadium can inspire.”

And Harry’s well-placed to do just that. When it comes to running a team that provides first-class cuisine in a multi-faceted venue like Wembley, Harry has a track record that’s second to none.

He’s cooked for Queen and country – literally – having worked with the Royal Household on state and ceremonial hospitality during his 34-year Army career. During his time with the Forces, he worked all over the world, latterly at Army HQ, with operational responsibility for feeding our troops in Afghanistan and around the world.

“Following my Army service, I was part of the senior catering management team of the London 2012 Olympics,” Harry recalls. “That was an amazing experience, and when it was over I was recruited to become the executive head chef at The Grove, the five-star hotel and leisure complex in Hertfordshire. After a five-year stint at The Grove, I cannot wait to get hands-on at Wembley.”

Regularly seen on TV in shows such as Saturday Kitchen and MasterChef, Harry is passionate about developing young, talented chefs. “I had some great mentors when I started my career, and I want bring through the next generation of chefs,” he says. “I also love engaging guests in the fascinating world of food, and I plan to involve Club Wembley members in cooking demonstrations and workshops.

“I believe every day is a learning day, and I want to bring that philosophy to the entire Wembley catering operation. That’s how we’ll ensure continuous improvement in everything we do. Not only enhancing the quality of food and beverage, but in all the back-of-house operational aspects of the role. These include service delivery, staff training and our relationships with suppliers – everything that contributes to truly remarkable experiences at every Wembley occasion.”

Sounds mouth-watering, doesn’t it?
